With Computex 2024 just a few weeks away in Taiwan, manufacturers are working hard to get the latest innovations we can expect. Before the event, Intel held a closed presentation for some media. It has mounted the Skymont cores, which are the efficiency cores of the new Intel Lunar Lake processors.

Currently, Intel processors use two different types of cores. We have P-Cores, which are used when there are large workloads. Then we have E-Cores, which are efficiency cores, which are designed for light tasks.

Intel shows off its new efficiency cores

During the closed presentation, Intel talked about the new Skymont efficiency cores. Although the presentation was confidential, many of the presentation slides have been leaked.

Skymont offers an IPC (instructions per clock) improvement. This is an IPC improvement of at least 10%. The new efficient Skymonts will be used in the Core Ultra 200 family of low-power notebooks Luna Lake and in Arrow Lake for notebooks and desktops.

Intel will probably reveal the information during the Computex 2024 conference. What we know about the Core Ultra 200 is that they will be power and efficiency cores, as well as including NPU. It will be the debut of AI specific cores in desktop computers. Thanks to these cores, we should be able to enjoy the features of Microsoft Copilot+.
